Last Thursday was Isabel and Johns farewell dinner... it wasn't something to be celebrated as everyone was quite sad. However, they manage to organise an awesome surprise for us... a baby shower!
Traditionally, baby showers were given only for the family's first child, and only women attended. The original intent was for women to share wisdom and lessons on the art of becoming a mother. Of course this was NOT the case haha first of all, we were woman and men. Secondly, nobody has any kind of wisdom or lessons to give as no one has kids yet!
So... lets stick to the definition on wikipedia which is "In some countries, a baby shower is a way to celebrate the pending or recent birth of a child by presenting gifts to the parents at a party. The term shower is often assumed to mean that the expectant mother is showered with gifts."
...and that was what happened... Pedro and I were showered with amazing presents such as dummies, dummy clips, a baby bouncer chair, socks, baby music toy and baby bottles. How could such a small group offer us so many presents?!
Thank you Isabel, John, Nele, Josh, Juliette and Aurel for such an amazing night, we will never forget it, and Duarte... well, he will be jumping with excitement!
